The Manteca suite is nothing short of awe inspiring, it is exactly what I imagined him playing as I made this portrait. There are few words that express the profundity of his contribution to high American culture, and him as a human being and teacher. High American culture is jazz, it is the greatest cultural gift to the world that America has given.
